How to Get Here
For three generations, the Rendezvous has been in the alley, downstairs, behind 52 South Second in downtown Memphis.
The City of Memphis has recently renamed the alley Charlie Vergos' Rendezvous Alley. Check a map or follow the directions below.
From the Airport
From the airport grounds or the rental car lots, follow the signs for I-240 Downtown.
Follow the I-240 loop about six miles around to Union Avenue (Exit 30). Turn off and follow the signs for Union Avenue West.
Go on Union about 1.5 miles. After you pass Autozone Park, Charlie Vergos' Rendezvous Alley will be the first alley on the right
side between Third Street & Second Street. Please see below for suggested parking.
From East Memphis
Take Walnut Grove/Union all the way downtown. After you pass Autozone Park, Charlie Vergos' Rendezvous Alley
will be the first alley on the right side between Third Street & Second Street.
Please see below for suggested parking.
From Nashville
Take I-40 all the way around Memphis. Just before you get to the river, exit at Second Street/Third Street (Exit 1a).
The ramp will merge you with Second Street. Go about nine blocks and turn left on Monroe Avenue.
Charlie Vergos' Rendezvous Alley will be the first alley on your right, between Second Street & Third Street.
Please see below for suggested parking.
From Arkansas
Take the I-40 bridge across the river and turn off at Front Street (Exit 1).
Turn right on Front, then go about five blocks and turn left on Monroe Avenue.
Charlie Vergos' Rendezvous Alley will be the first alley on your right, between Second Street & Third Street.
Please see below for suggested parking.
From the Trolley
If you're riding the Main Street Trolley, get off at the Union Avenue stop and head east (away from the river) down Union.
Use the sidewalk on the north side. Cross Second Street, then follow your nose left on Charlie Vergos' Rendezvous Alley.
Our door is on the left, right past the Holiday Inn.
Where to Park
- Central Parking, 171 Monroe Avenue (corner of Third & Monroe), this garage is the closest, only a few steps from our door, but also priciest
- Commerce Square Parking, 1 Commerce Square (enter garage on Union Ave between Second St & Main St), 1 block from our alley
- Parking Can Be Fun, 79 Union Ave (between Main St & Front St), 2 _ blocks from our alley. This garage is a favorite of locals because they do not raise prices during special events
- Peabody Place Blues Garage, 150 Peabody Place (between Second & Third Street), 3 blocks from our alley. This garage is a good option if you’re planning on visiting Beale Street after you dine with us
- Toyota Center Garage, 195 Madison Ave (at Third Street), 1 _ blocks from our alley
- If you're lucky, street parking is free on nights & weekends (pay the meters on week days)
What to See Downtown
If youre visiting downtown Memphis, you dont want to spend the entire time hunched over a plate of our ribs. Heres how to pass the time before and after meals:
Theres plenty more to do. Try the Center City Commission and the Memphis Convention and Visitors Bureau for pointers.
Where to Sleep
If youre visiting overnight, our cleanup crew gets cranky if you sleep in your booth. Crash in one of these places instead:
